EmEvents was founded by Emily Murphy in 2004 to deliver arts events and support, manage and mentor music makers.
Our purpose in the music sector is to help artists build a narrative, grow their audience, and establish themselves as sought-after artists in their field.
Through working with artists EM Events has become involved in the development of a wide variety of creative and educational projects around Australia within city, regional and remote communities.
EM Events has been involved in projects such as Vibe Alive, USQ Deadly Ways, APRA/AMCOS Starting Ground, Toowoomba Gardenfest, delivering programs to urban communities such as Wollongong in NSW, across the Sunshine Coast, Gympie and Brisbane in Queensland through to being invited to work with the communities of Yirrkala in the East Arnhem Region, Tennant Creek on Murumburr country in the NT and Marble Bar in WA.
Importantly, EM Events strives to provide longevity and legacy in all that the business does. We aim to work on a long-term basis so that ultimately the communities themselves have ownership and determination over what is created within their space.

Emily grew up on a farm on the black soil plains of northwest NSW, close to a town of just 98 people. At risk of losing teachers from her small-town school, this amazing little community created an amateur theatre association, writing original works based upon timeless stories. This project has sustained and grown the community of Boomi for nearly 30 years.
In this way, her small community remained vibrant and thriving, thus inspiring Emily and fuelling her understanding, passion and commitment to authentically working with and within communities.
She also learned to be transparent, to listen and to encourage everyone to have a voice. Emily takes a long-term approach, she promotes diversity as well as inclusion and aims to leave a community better than she found it.
Emily has studied Social Anthropology, Fine Arts and Journalism and worked in the media industry for over a decade. Her passion for the music industry has allowed her to develop and manage large events, run successful campaigns, contribute to music industry panels and directed music festival programs.

As the music and business manager for First Nations singer/songwriter, Dr Shellie Morris, she has been involved in the production of various albums. Working closely with Shellie, they have brought together some vastly talented First Nations youth and Elders to record and release some of the great storytelling available in Australia today.
